The Queenstown Winter Festival is a series of competitions and parties both on and off the slopes. At Coronet Peak ski area there are zany snow races, in cardboard boxes or suitcases. The Queenstown Winter Festival is New Zealand's biggest and brightest celebration during the winter which is June - July - August in the southern hemisphere. It’s a nearly two weeks of events like the spectacular opening ceremony. Opening Night is always huge with bands, fireworks, comedians and an exciting atmosphere around the town.
