You'll often find coverage on Sky in New Zealand but this can be months after it's actually aired live in the United States, and you know who the winner was.

If you want to watch live then you'll need to be in the US or Australia. The easiest way to watch for free is using 10 Play in Australia, a free-to-air platform and an Australian VPN.

98. Crackle

Crackle is a premium subscription which offers on-demand content such as Hollywood movies and a range of shows from action, horror, Sci-Fi, crime and comedy.

Similar to Netflix, it offers different options and a lower price. It is available on many devices, but you need to be located in the United States to watch.

A US based VPN server can quickly unlock Crackle and nearly all providers work with Crackle. There is a free version of the app supported by ads and a premium upgrade.

99. Voot India

Voot is an online streaming platform popular among Indian expats. It's very similar to Hotstar but lacks a lot of the big name content.

You can watch a wide range of Indian content on Voot as well as International classics from movies, entertainment and kids TV shows.

Unfortunately the platform is only available in India, so you'll need an Indian IP address to watch. Most VPN providers offer Indian servers, allowing you to quickly watch Voot.

100. Major League Baseball

Thankfully you can watch some MLB games in New Zealand thanks to coverage provided by ESPN but it's often one game at a time, and is major teams.

If you're a fan of a smaller team you're probably going to struggle to find live coverage. Thankfully you can use MLB TV. The cheapest price is in countries such as Philippines.

You can use a VPN from this country and then signup for MLB.TV to watch all games live. You won't have to deal with blackouts either.

If you've set yourself up with a Kayo Sports subscription, they offer the same games as ESPN New Zealand which requires a paid subscription.

101. AFL Grand Final

Want to watch the AFL Grand final for free in New Zealand? Yeah lots of Aussie expats and sports fans do, but it's not obvious how to do that.

Fortunately the AFL final is free to air in Australia which means an Australian VPN server and a local server such as Melbourne or Sydney IP will allow you to watch for free using any device such as a laptop, smartphone or desktop.

The free to air platform changes each year, so click here for setup instructions.

102. Rugby World Cup

Every four years, the world's best rugby players come together in the Rugby World Cup, held in countries around the world. In recent years it's been hosted in New Zealand and Japan with the 2023 tournament being held in France.

While it's too early to guarantee who will be live streaming all the games for free, we can take a guess that they'll be free to air in the UK on BBC iPlayer and ITV Player.

Other events include: 7's Rugby

You can get yourself setup early with fast internet, a high quality TV and a UK VPN server which will unlock those two platforms for free.

103. FIFA World Cup

The FIFA World Cup is probably the world's most watched event, and is worth billions. TV rights are expensive but in recent years brands have put the games out of reach for those on low incomes.

It's strange, given other countries offer their citizens the games for free. You only need a VPN and you can connect to a local IP and watch all the world cup games for free.

With the next tournament a couple years away, it's worth planning now to ensure you've got the fastest Internet connection and a way to watch (free or paid).

104. Nascar Cup Series

Love Nascar? There's an entire cup series but if you're living in New Zealand you wouldn't know as there's hardly any coverage.

So how do Nascar fanatics actually watch and can you watch for free? Well yes you can with the help of a VPN and services such as Youtube TV (USA VPN required).

Additionally all races are live and on-demand on Fubo TV and Sling TV which we've covered up above in this article. You'll need a subscription and a US VPN.

105. Moto GP

Love motorcycles as much as I do? Then you'll want to watch the Moto GP events live and on-demand from New Zealand. But the coverage is limiting.

Similar to the Isle of Man TT, and North West 200, coverage is often confined to the races and a few of the practice sessions (if you're lucky).

Fortunately in other countries the Moto GP is streamed for free and all the coverage is available to watch live.

106. The Ashes Cricket

The ashes is a yearly event held in either Australia or England and is a 5 series cricket match held throughout the country.

Originally started in 1877, the series is one of the most popular cricket events, aside from the World Cup which is held every 4 years.

Watching the ashes in New Zealand for free isn't possible, but with the help of a VPN you can watch it for free in other countries. The channels change each year so click here for the most up to date instructions.

107. Cricket World Cup

Every four years the Cricket World Cup delights fans around the world. Often held over 6-8 weeks in various countries around the world, it's an amazing day for each game.

Watching the tournament in New Zealand often involves paid channels, unless New Zealand are playing in which they are often on free-to-air platforms.

There's plenty of countries out there that are offering the tournament for free though and VPN will unlock those games. Each year the platforms change so check this guide for the most up to date instructions.
