The Levene Half Marathon Lake Taupo is New Zealand`s biggest half marathon. This popular event is held annually on the first Sunday in August and is now in its tenth year, becoming one of the county`s leading half marathons.  There is almost an even split between the numbers of runners and walkers and over 3200 participated in the 2003 event.
