Auckland leisure time for
many people is centered around the sea and the beautiful Hauraki Gulf. There are
many Auckland charter boat and yacht charter companies who will take you for a
cruise, sailing, on an old style tug boat and even out to watch dolphins at play
in the harbour.
The
Ultimate America's Cup Experience
NZL 40 and NZL 41 are America’s Cup Class yachts, both built for the
1995 America’s Cup in San Diego. The yachts offer a unique opportunity
to experience sailing or racing authentic America’s Cup yachts, the
equivalent in motor racing of driving a F1 race car. Suitable for
everyone, from experienced racers to the most apprehensive first time
sailor. The skipper and crew are keen racing yachties and will ensure
you get the most from your two hour sail or three hour match race.
'Hole
in the Rock' Cruise
Depart Auckland this morning and head north over the Auckland Harbor
Bridge to enjoy spectacular rural and coastal scenery en-route to the
Bay of Islands. On arrival in the Bay, visit the Waitangi Treaty House
and grounds. See a traditional Maori meeting house and a huge 'waka'
(war canoe).
Auckland
Harbour Luncheon Cruise
As the Captain welcomes you on board the 50 foot yacht he will take you through a brief introduction of the cruise accompanied by a safety briefing. Upon departure the yacht motors through Auckland's Viaduct Harbour where you are served your freshly made picnic box lunch and in wet weather yachts may travel to Westhaven Marina for lunch.
Enjoy a drink from the ships bar and listen to an informative commentary on the history of the area, the Americas Cup bases and many different types of vessels of interest within the area. Once you have enjoyed your lunch the crew then sets sail to cruise Auckland's beautiful Waitemata Harbour. You have the option of helping the crew sail the yacht or just sit back relax and listen to an informative commentary on the sights of Auckland.
